About Gina Cox![]() Gina is currently working on several projects, including a music album and the upcoming Execution Style. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in English. A Dean’s List graduate, she has studied at prestigious schools abroad, including the Sorbonne. A former educator in the New York City Public School System, Gina has been acknowledged for her achievements in the award-winning Literary Divas: The Top 100 Most Admired African-American Women In Literature. Her professional credits include pieces written for African Voices Magazine and Publishers Marketing Association; she is also featured in Speak Truth to Power! and Time Off! The Upside to Downtime. Her interviews have aired on C-SPAN, ABC, NBC, CBS and BET Nightly News. In addition to her degrees, Gina has completed more than 300 semester hours of psychology and behavioral science-related subjects including: Educational Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Multiple-Intelligences and Theoretical Foundations. Much of her insight is drawn from life experiences in the inner city and reflections on gentrification and common social issues. Gina has also received training in: Violence Prevention, Identifying Child Abuse and Maltreatment, Health Education and ESL Methodologies. She is a certified English instructor having received numerous academic and professional awards throughout her career. She lives in New York and is currently developing a literacy initiative for economically-disadvantaged children. A former model and concert dancer, Gina loves to travel and spends much of her free time looking for new and exciting subjects to write about. Her favorite authors are Zora Neale Hurston, Robert Ludlum and Dean Koontz. A particular writer whose life, writing and adventures she admires is Ernest Hemingway. An avid reader, Gina loves to relax at home with a good book, some bubbly and her best friend Willie. Her hobbies include: songwriting, visual arts, antique furniture restoration and belly dancing.
